FTTH (Fiber to the Home)
Refers to a high speed broadband telecommunication system based on fiber
optic
cables for delivery of multiple advanced
services such as telephone, broadband internet and television to homes and business. FTTH is a replacement for age old copper infrastructure.
Currently connectivity to the home which is traditionally called as last mile represents more than 80% of all the telecom cabling is on copper. Converting all this copper infrastructure to ftth is a massive task.
